Bahia Resort Hotel San Diego

San Diego's Bahia Hotel is fun, friendly, and fabulous.  Yes, handicap people it's easy to get around their 14 acre property.  Save your airfare to Tahiti and rent one of the beach front rooms on the private guest beach.  If you are fortunate enough to be greeted by General Manager, Jim Greene, you will feel welcomed by a seasoned pro.  Don't miss the large assortment of yummy cookies and cold lemonade upon check-in.

Have a Pina Colada delivered to your room's private patio by their happy, helpful staff.  The bellhop, Lauren, was so nice that to accommodate our handicap guests he drove the kids over to the properties edge to make it convenient to walk to the local taco stand.

The private beach front room has a beautiful view of the bay looking at the marina with luxury yachts and sailboats.  Walk (or use a wheelchair) right from the rooms patio along the beaches sidewalk to the boats, kayak, and catamaran rental.  The patio to the beach sidewalk has a cement ramp.  You can see the kids making sandcastles from your living room.  For those who prefer grass over sand, will be happy to know that there is a nice grassy area between the patio and beach sand.

(FYI be sure to jot down the reservation persons name, they have a bit of friendly confusion in that department.)

The front desk manager, Dan Zisko, is not very accommodating.  We watched two movies for ten minutes only turning the first movie off because the staff told us they would not charge for the first movie but Dan reneged on that agreement.

Also, be sure to get a receipt when purchasing items from their gift shop.  (Or, any store for that matter.)  When staff doesn't give you a receipt everyone pays for the employee theft with higher prices on everything.
